TME Designs offers architecture and design services in the Hospitality Field, Small Commercial and Residential Design. About Allyson Turco McCarthy
AIA, NCARB, Leed AP BD+C
With 19 years of experience, Ms. McCarthy’s background spans multiple specialties, including large commercial mixed use projects, hospitality design, institutional facilities and small commercial projects. Many projects involved renovation to existing structures and revitalizing interior spaces to accommodate new functions.
Ms. McCarthy is licensed to practice architecture in Georgia but holds NCARB certification for State reciprocity opportunities. As a LEED Accredited Professional, she designs with sustainable principles in mind.
Ms. McCarthy’s knowledge of historic preservation practices comes from six years as the architectural representative, two years as Chair, for the Atlanta Urban Design Commission (AUDC). The AUDC reviews projects in Historic and Landmark Districts in Atlanta as well as renovations or additions to Historic and Landmark Buildings. The AUDC reviews and comments on City of Atlanta Park Designs and City owned buildings. Members of the eleven seat board are appointed by the Mayor and Atlanta City Council.
Ms. McCarthy is a graduate of The Catholic University of America in Washington, DC but has lived in Atlanta since 1993. Ms. McCarthy believes in volunteering within the community and is active in the local elementary school. This past Fall she taught the program “Discover Architecture” to fourth and fifth graders in conjunction with AIA Atlanta. Ms. McCarthy is also the 2012 Co Chair for the Lake Claire Neighbors “fun”raising committee and participated in the 2010 and 2011 Lake Claire Home and Gardens Tour raising money for the neighborhood gardens and park.
